Your Mum Turns 25!

Addison Mariah, your mummy’s birthday is today. She’s a quarter of a century old. Your gramma-cat brought her into this world 25 years ago, just as she has brought you into this world a little over four months ago.

You may sense it already, for sure you will know when you get older: your mother is a very special person. She is very very loving. She is patient, and funny, and very smart. You are the world to her and you have changed her life in many ways. You are very lucky to have a mother like her, just as she is lucky to have a most special daughter like you. It is, in many ways, the perfect fit.
Next year you may be able to say Happy Birthday Mommy!. For sure you’ll be able to hold out your arms to her for her to pick you up.
Right now it is enough for you to sense her presence and be happy. You are a happy baby, and she is a happy, strong and beautiful mother.

Fish

More Fish in pool at Great Gramma's Home Today you and your mum went to visit your Great Gramma Jerry. Where she lives, there is a very nice little body of water with many big and color fish in it. Your mother held you up on the gazebo for you to look at them. They are graceful and very active. You certainly did watch them for a long time.

Your First Solid Food (sorta)

Addison's first eating experience!

Addison's first eating experience!

Today your mum sat you at your science workbench for your first experience of solid food (rice cereal). You were mildy interested, then opened your mouth and started chewing! You did good for your first time!!! Then you started asking for the ‘real’ food: your ba! Overall it was a fun experience, and your mum thinks you are definetly ready to have rice cereal progressively introduced to your diet. Any younger than your current age, and it could be a choking hazard (you wouldn’t have been ready to sit up then), and your tummy couldn’t handle the digestion yet. But you are ready now and really seem to enjoy it (sorta…).

not all mattresses are created equal

When your mum and I first got your royal crib, we settled for a cheapie mattress. There are some areas in life where firmness is very important. You’ll be getting an upgraded royal mattress this weekend.

On a related note….

You are very pleasant to wake up to in the morning. Always smiling. Your muscles are developing rapidly now. You insist on rolling over onto your tummy during diaper changing.

Why Does My Lip Curl Up?

Today while in a small cafe, your mum and I took turns introducing a sliced pickle to you. We placed it tentatively on your tongue. Your lip curled up but you opened your mouth. You really seemed to like it and rubbed your little gums on it…even while your lip was curled up. It was tooooo cute. Your mother and I have decided you are the most beautiful, spectacular thing on this planet. 🙂

After the pickle introduction, you seemd to notice everything we were eating. This weekend your mum is going to get some organic rice cereal. She will introduce you to it on a small baby spoon as prescribed in her “What to expect during the first year book”.

You wear a bib nearly all the time now since you are a perfect drooling machine (much like your Aunt Rachael was when she was your age). It will be interesting to see how the drool increases or mixes up with the food when you start in on your baby food eventually.

Every day is an adventure for you!
